In December 2014, Russell and I rented a huge Toyota Hiace from Britz! We drove from Sydney to Melbourne in a clankering tin can, fully equipped with a fridge, sink, bed but thankfully, no loo! We stopped by every single Woolsworth and happily stocked up our fridge with everything that we could possibly want. A huge kudos goes out to Jamie Oliver whose pre-marinated meat brought our cooking skills to a whole new level. The most memorable parts of our trip:
- Russell looking down at the doomed shit pit at Mystery Bay.
- Tiffany having to pee under our awning because it was impossible to get to the common toilet facility (which coincidentally is the shit pit at Mystery Bay) in the thunderstorm. Did I mention that there was periodic lighting that provided a split second of incandesent light flash to my surroundings?
- 2 days spent at Wilsons Prom National Park which teeming with Wombats. They are unbelievably adorable and poop square poop bits.
- Waiting in the crazy cold for the sun to set just to catching the fairy penguins return ashore. Next time, we need to remember to bring night vision googles for this discovery channel moment.
- Pokemon accumulation of trailing vehicles behind our slow moving campervan.
- Walks in the torrential rain in our attempt to 'hike' the coastal trail.
